NEW SXC HEALTH SOLUTIONS TO BUY MEDFUSIONRX FOR $100M

Pharmacy Benefits Manager SXC Health Solutions Corp. announced Thursday it would buy MedfusionRx specialist provider of pharmacy for $ 100 million additional $ 5,500,000 in cash if certain performance targets are achieved by the year 2012. MedfusionRx is based in Birmingham, Ala., and provides clinical services to more than 9000 patients with complex medical clinics, SXC said in a press release, including cancer, multiple sclerosis and hepatitis C. SXC owner told officials that the most dynamic region in the PBM space and stated that the contract size of their operations in the area is increasing by about U.S. $ 400 million. "This acquisition will expand our presence and strengthen our capabilities in the market for specialty pharmacy us apart from our competitors in the PBM-mi", SXC CEO Mark Thierer said in a statement. SXC expects the deal to generate between 15 cents and 17 cents in adjusted net income next year.
